Details

What stays local and what is requested

What I Eat stores favorites, recent scan history, dietary preferences, cached product details, and settings locally on your iPhone or iPad. Big Pants Apps does not receive this local app data unless you choose to include it in a support email.

To look up a product, the app sends barcode or search requests to a product lookup service. The service may process basic technical request information such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested path, barcode, or search term to return results, keep the service reliable, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.

Product information is based on Open Food Facts and related open product data. Records can be incomplete, user-contributed, region-specific, or out of date, so the product package remains the source of truth.

Food information

Not medical, nutrition, or allergy advice

What I Eat provides informational food-label context only. Scores, additives, allergens, and preference warnings are not medical advice, nutrition advice, or allergy guidance.

For allergies, medical diets, pregnancy, or health decisions, read the physical package label and consult a qualified professional when needed.
